Scotland Boy

Moray is from a musical family. ”Scotland Boy” was recorded when he was a pupil at Eaglesham Primary and Mearns Castle High Schools in East Renfrewshire, Scotland. Moray received choral training as a member of the National Boys’ Choir of Scotland and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra Junior Chorus both directed by the effervescent and charismatic Christopher Bell. His singing teacher was Wilma MacDougall whose understanding of a boy’s treble voice is remarkable. This CD is a testament to her inspirational teaching. Moray’s first solo experience was with The Orchestra of Scottish Opera performing in the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow and the Usher Hall, Edinburgh as part of the “Children’s Classic Concerts”. He has also sung with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Moray was signed to Sony BMG as one of six singers in Simon Cowell’s children’s group “Angelis” which had the honour of performing before the Queen in Westminster Abbey. The album “Angelis” sold over 390,000 copies thus making Moray a platinum - selling artiste at the age of 11. Moray has a 3-octave range, as demonstrated on this album where the eclectic mix of songs shows him to be comfortable singing in a wide range of styles.
