aai Pipes & Drums of Denny & Dunipace Play Scotland's Best is a standard collection of marches, reels, airs, hornpipes, and strathspeys. Like a college marching band playing its school's fight song, it' offers a reliable slice of Scottish tradition that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. Highlights of the album include "Lament: Flowers of the Forest," "Polka and Jigs: The Black Watch Polka/Mull of Kintyre," and lovely omission of the usually required rendition of "Amazing Race." ames Christopher Monger
