The Piano Accordion originated in the early 19th century evolving from the full sized harmonium. It found its place in Scottish music lending itself to playing alongside the fiddle in traditional music and in dance bands and has remained so with the exposure and popularity gained by renowned players such as the late Jimmy Shand, Will Starr and Bobby MacLeod to mention a few.
This, the first volume in a collection of Scottish Accordion Kings showcases ten of today’s traditional and contemporary players from different areas of Scotland playing in their own unique styles.

Robin Galloway has sold more than 100,000 phone prank CD’s and has been awarded no fewer that 5 Gold Discs by The Scottish Music Industry Association for CD sales. Notable scalps caught out by Robin’s phone calls include Alex Salmond, Jedward, Paris Hilton and Donald Trump.
The CD’s are regularly sent to Scottish ex-pats throughout the world and always make great Christmas gifts to loved ones who miss a bit of their homeland.
Robin Galloway regularly features crank calls on his number 1 rated Clyde 1 drivetime show weekday afternoons from 2 and across Bauer Radio Scotland’s network of stations every Sunday morning between 9am – 12.

On the Wind from Edinburgh Castle.
One thousand musicians from across the globe took the Esplanade of Edinburgh Castle by srorm this summer at the annual Edinburgh Military tattoo.
Traditional favourites such as the Massed Pipes and Drums were joined by, amongst others, the 90-strong Brazillian Marine Corps martial Band, Bavaria's German Mountain Army Band and a unique Dutch Cycle Band.
Staged once again alongside the impressive backcloth of Edinburgh castle and held in a magnificent new £16m amphitheatre, the show's theme for 2011 was "Of the Sea" and featured lead service, the Royal Navy with the Massed Bands of Her Majesty's Royal Marines.
Music, colour and theatre defined this nautical-themed event as a mulit-national and multi-cultural castenthralled audiences at 25 sold-out performances of the 62nd Castle Esplanade spectacular.

North Sea Gas are Dave Gilfillan, Ronnie MacDonald and Grant Simpson. On occasion within Scotland, North Sea Gas are augmented by the wonderful talents of Gerry McKenna.
Thirty years and stronger than ever!! One of Scotland’s most popular folk bands with great vocals and tremendous three part harmonies. Guitars, Mandolin, Fiddle, Bouzouki, Whistles, Bodhrans, Banjo and good humour are all part of the entertainment. North Sea Gas have received Gold and Silver disc awards from the Scottish Music Industry Association and regularly have sell out shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
This latest album brings together traditional and contemporary songs all presented in their own unique way. The 17 songs were recorded at Pier House Studios, Edinburgh, Scotland in February through April 2011 and features a 12 page booklet with song lyrics and liner notes.

Pipes & Drums of Denny & Dunipace Play Scotland's Best is a standard collection of marches, reels, airs, hornpipes, and strathspeys. Like a college marching band playing its school's fight song, it' offers a reliable slice of Scottish tradition that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. Piper Eric Rigler’s skills on the Uileann Pipes make him one of the world’s most sought after Celtic musicians. Eric played on the original soundtrack for Mel Gibson’s motion picture Braveheart and features throughout this recording with the Bill Garden Orchestra.
The title track Braveheart Trilogy is a specially adapted arrangement from composer James Horner’s original film soundtrack. This album also includes many of Scotland’s best loved anthems featuring orchestral and traditional folk band arrangements, and as such it is a must for any musical collection.
The DVD presentation provides a wonderful visual backdrop to the music with scenes of Scotland including Fingal’s Cave, Iona, South Uist, Portree, The Cuillins, Barra, Mull, Tobermory, The Cobbler, Inveraray, Dunoon, Loch Lomond, Loch Fyne, Kyles, Arran, Glencoe, Ben Nevis and St Andrews and more.
